Living in France

Living in France   ..........         Its our experience of life in France.
and our break from the rat race and mid-life crisis all rolled into one. We are moving to France and you can follow our journey from the terraced streets of Leeds in England to the beautiful countryside of the French Limousin, and marvel at how well we are doing in our French vegetable garden and with DIY on zero budget or maybe just shake your head in wonder at our naivety, or point and laugh with your friends, whatever.

"We've run away to Live in France and we're not going back EVER!

cat running in our vegetable garden in France

just so long as you know"

Why are we living in France?

Why France?
"There's lots of it and we can afford to own a bit"

Our new life in France  involves starting off with life's basics like, buying seeds for organic vegetables and trying to make everything we need, so expect most information on the vegetable garden and DIY project pages to start with.

From there we'll branch out to the little luxuries that will make our French lifestyle more bearable like homebrew and decorative plants, for the edges of the vegetable garden and orchard.

When we can like the Limousin villagers around us we will grow our own vegetable plants and soft fruits. DIY projects by the dozen are waiting for us and we will share know-how tips both self learnt the hard way or DIY advice from books as and when we tackle the multitude of projects in the home and vegetable garden

We will review the DIY books we have read when we can, the French forums we have lurked on and the successful Limousin Expat's we have stalked here while living in  France. And let you know what happens when we try to put their knowledge into practice. So off we go to Limousin  France for at least six months with two dogs and a cat, lots of books about plants vegetable gardening and DIY, limited funds, beginners French and no practical experience.
